I want to strengthen my faith. Any advice??
“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” Hebrews 11:1-3
It’s just something you choose to believe in, that’s what faith is. Also, I’d like to share with you a recent experience. Often when I would pray I would ask God to give me faith, to strengthen my faith. But that’s not how it works, faith is not a feeling that suddenly posseses you, God doesn’t just wave a little wand and bam you have faith. You build it. You ask God to strengthen your faith, he’s gonna put you through struggles, he’s gonna make you suffer. And THEN, he’ll rescue you.That’s how he proves his love for you. How else would he do it? You have to go through something first, so that when he does save you, you can be sure of the fact that it was HIM who saved you. It’s really easy to praise the Lord when everything’s going great in your life, isn’t it? It’s easy to say “GOD, YOU ARE GOOD TO ME!” when you’ve just received a raise at work. But is it easy to praise him when you feel like giving up? Is it easy to tell him that he’s good when you’ve had a horrible day? No, but that’s when it most matters. That’s when you have to ask him for salvation and that’s when you have to avoid temptations to give up. And when you do, he will save you, he will restore peace in your mind and soul. You dedicate yourself, and little by little you become stronger.
